Protect Children Requirements for Employees:
Faculty and staff with direct contact with non-student minors through Georgia Tech organized youth programs must take the Protecting Youth Course hosted in the Georgia Tech Office of Human Resources Canvas/Genius website. The course can be accessed here. Please note employees will be prompted to complete the GT single-sign-on process to access the course. Firefox browser recommended.
Protect Children Requirements for non-employees (students, post docs, temporary employees, affiliates, contractors, etc):
Non-employees with direct contact with non-student minors through Georgia Tech organized youth programs must complete the Protecting Youth Course hosted within the Vector platform. Access to the training will be granted via email by the Youth Programs Compliance Specialist and must be requested by the respective youth program organizer by filling out this webform:
Training Access:
- Youth program organizers with GT students, or non-GT employees serving in direct contact with minors should complete the training access form here.
- Once forms have been submitted it can take between 3 and 5 business days for access to be granted.
- Youth program organizers must obtain proof of training completion (certificate of completion) from the volunteers prior to allowing them to have direct contact with minors.
After completing the online training, the individuals must email the completion certificate to their youth program contact. The training will not be considered complete until the respective youth program contact receives the employee/volunteer training certificate. All youth programs are required to keep training documentation for the records retention period. If you are a program organizer and would like to gain access to past records of training please reach out to the Youth Programs Compliance Specialist at youthprograms@gatech.edu.
